Spanish defender of Guinea-Bissau descent, Alejandro Balde, has been ruled out of Barcelona’s first-leg tie against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
The Cope del Rey champions will take on the Italian side in the first leg of the tie on Wednesday, April 30.
Ahead of the game, the team had a rest on Sunday after beating Real Madrid in the final of this season’s Copa del Rey.
After the day off, the Barcelona team resumed training on Monday to begin preparations for the tie against Inter Milan.
Unfortunately, full-back Alejandro Balde was not part of the training session. The defender has a muscle injury and is expected to miss the game against the Italians on Wednesday.
Another key player in line to miss the game on Wednesday is lethal striker Robert Lewandowski.
He also has a muscle problem and cannot recover in time for the game on Wednesday.
Marc Casado and Marc Bernal are to be assessed in the coming days to determine whether they can recover in time for the game.
