Nigerian international Ademola Lookman delivered a stellar performance for Atalanta on Tuesday night, contributing a goal and an assist in their emphatic 5-0 victory over Sturm Graz in the UEFA Champions League.

Despite starting on the bench, the Super Eagles forward made an immediate impact after coming on in the second half, playing a crucial role in his team’s dominant win.

Atalanta opened the scoring early in the game when Davide Zappacosta set up Mateo Retegui in the 12th minute, allowing him to slot the ball into the net for a 1-0 lead.

In the 58th minute, Juan Cuadrado delivered a perfectly placed long pass to Mario Pasalic, who capitalized on the opportunity with a powerful finish into the roof of the net to double Atalanta’s lead.

Just five minutes later, Charles De Ketelaere was quick to react to a rebound inside the box, firing it into the bottom right corner to make it 3-0.

Lookman then made his mark in the 90th minute, connecting with a pinpoint cross from De Ketelaere to score with a simple header into an empty net, further extending Atalanta’s dominance.

The final goal of the night came in the 95th minute through Marco Brescianini, who displayed incredible skill to drive into the penalty area and slot the ball into the bottom right corner, leaving goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen with no chance.

Atalanta’s commanding performance puts them in a strong position in the competition.
