Uche Ikpeazu has completed a permanent move from St. Johnstone to Ross County, joining the Dingwall club from their Scottish Championship rivals in a deal registered on 2026-02-02. The centre-forward arrives with a current market valuation of €150k and becomes the latest addition to Ross County’s attacking options as they reshape their squad for the remainder of the campaign and beyond. His contract with Ross County runs from 2026-02-02 to 2027-06-30.

The transfer keeps the 30-year-old in Scotland’s second tier, with both St. Johnstone and Ross County currently competing in the Championship. Although the agreed fee has not been disclosed and is officially listed as “?”, the move is confirmed as a standard, permanent transfer rather than a loan or short-term arrangement. The contract length indicates that Ross County view Ikpeazu as more than a stop-gap solution, tying him down through to 2027-06-30 and reducing any short-term risk of him becoming a free agent.

Ikpeazu, born in London on 28/02/1995, brings dual Uganda and England nationality and considerable experience across British and European football. Primarily a centre-forward and right-footed, he has previously featured for Port Vale, Cambridge United, Wycombe Wanderers, Middlesbrough, Cardiff City and Konyaspor, as well as an earlier spell in Scotland with Heart of Midlothian before returning north of the border to sign for St. Johnstone in 2024. His career has taken him through the English pyramid, the Turkish top flight and the Scottish Premiership and Championship, with his market value peaking close to €800k during his Middlesbrough and Cardiff periods before settling at its current €150k during his time at St. Johnstone.

The move also underlines Ikpeazu’s established status as a player operating abroad relative to his nationalities, continuing his career in Scotland’s Championship rather than in Uganda or England. For Ross County, adding a forward with that breadth of experience offers a proven, physically imposing option at the top end of the pitch, capable of leading the line and providing a direct focal point.

Ikpeazu’s transfer away from St. Johnstone follows a gradual decrease in market value from €375k at Port Vale and €200k at St. Johnstone down to €150k, but Ross County are betting on his track record rather than the number on paper. His CV includes multiple competitive leagues and a long list of former clubs, ranging from Reading’s youth setup and Watford to loan stints at Crewe Alexandra, Doncaster Rovers and Blackpool, before more recent stops at Wycombe, Middlesbrough and Konyaspor.

With the deal now finalised and contractual details in place until 2027-06-30, Ikpeazu’s focus turns to establishing himself quickly in Ross County colours. If he can rediscover the form that once made him an €800k asset in England’s Championship and deliver consistent performances in Scotland’s second tier, this move has the potential to stabilise his career trajectory and reassert his reputation as a reliable, robust centre-forward at Championship level.
