UAE beat Oman to reach Gulf Cup 27 final against Saudi Arabia

The United Arab Emirates reached the Gulf Cup 27 final after a 1-0 victory over Oman in the semi-final.

Othman Kamara scored the only goal of the match in the 22nd minute, securing the UAE’s place in Tuesday’s final.

The UAE had the chance to extend their lead after being awarded a penalty in the 56th minute, but Nicolas Gimenez’s effort was saved by Oman goalkeeper Ibrahim Al-Mukhaini.

They will face Saudi Arabia, who booked their place in the final by beating Qatar 3-2 on penalties after their semi-final ended goalless following extra time.

Saudi Arabia will appear in the Gulf Cup final for the first time since 2019, when they faced Bahrain and lost 1-0.

They have also kept four consecutive clean sheets, following three victories in the group stage and their penalty shoot-out win over Qatar.

Saudi Arabia topped their group with nine points after defeating Kuwait, Oman and Iraq in the opening round before overcoming Qatar in the semi-finals.

Qatar reached the last four after finishing second behind the UAE in Group B on goal difference.

Saudi Arabia have won the Gulf Cup three times, most recently in 2003.
