Congo has advanced to the third round of the qualifiers for the African Nations Under-23 Football Championship, which serves as a qualifier for the 2016 Olympic Games.
In a dramatic return leg at the Pointe Noire sports complex, Claude Leroy’s team overcame Ghana. After losing the first leg 1-0, Congo leveled the tie with a goal by Ganvoula in the first half. The match went to penalties, where Congo triumphed 5-4.
Next up for the Diablotains is a tough challenge against Nigeria.
