FIFA’s Tatjana Haenni, alongside her colleagues, conducted the draw for the U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 in Montreal on Saturday. The draw revealed the groupings for the tournament, which will see Ghana and Nigeria representing Africa.
In Group A, Ghana finds itself alongside host nation Canada, as well as Finland and Korea DPR. Nigeria, the other African contender, is placed in Group C, where they will compete against England, the Republic of Korea, and Mexico.
The USA and Germany, finalists in the 2012 edition, are grouped together in Group B alongside China and Brazil. The competition matches will be held across the cities of Edmonton, Moncton, Montreal, and Toronto, with Canada set to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015.
