Egypt vs. Togo Friendly Canceled Due to Ramadan, Rescheduled for August 5th
The first friendly match between Egypt and Togo, initially scheduled for August 1st, has been canceled. The Egyptian Football Federation made this decision in respect of the Ramadan holiday, which was observed last Monday. Egyptian authorities explained that their young players, coming off a fasting period, would find it difficult to recover adequately before the original date.
However, the two teams will now face each other on August 5th as part of their preparations for upcoming fixtures. The Junior Hawks are scheduled to depart Lomé on August 3rd to meet their Egyptian counterparts. Coach Adam Fazazi has named a squad of 18 players for the trip.
This squad consists of 95% of the players who secured qualification in Rabat against Morocco during the second and penultimate round of the Africa Cup of Nations Junior qualifiers for Senegal 2015.
The Hawks are expected to return to Lomé between August 6th and 7th.
