The head coach of Ghana’s U20 national team, Desmond Ofei is upbeat ahead of the clash against DR Congo at the 2025 U20 CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The team nicknamed the Black Satellites are kicking off their campaign at the tournament in Egypt today.
Speaking in a pre-match interview ahead of his team’s encounter against DR Congo, Coach Desmond Ofei said his team wants to defeat the opponent to get off to a good start in the tournament.
“We are happy to be here in Egypt. It’s important that we get off to a good start,” the Ghana coach said.
Coach Desmond Ofei added, “Every team in this tournament is strong. We have to show our identity and pedigree.
“The boys are ready. We want to showcase our talent, but we also need to neutralize DR Congo to get the right result.”
Ghana’s Group C clash against DR Congo is scheduled to kick off at 6 pm on Friday evening.
