U20 Africa Cup of Nations: CAF announces dates, kick off times, and venues for group stage and knockout matches

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced the dates, kick-off times, and venues for the group stage and knockout stage matches of the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 17th edition of Africa’s flagship youth tournament will be held in Egypt from 27 April to 18 May 2025.

The tournament will feature 13 nations competing across three Cairo, Ismailia, and Suez venues.

The tournament kicks off on Sunday, April 27, with the host nation Egypt facing Zambia at 21:00 local time at the Cairo International Stadium. Earlier that evening, Sierra Leone will clash with South Africa at 18:00 in Ismailia, also as part of the Group A fixtures.

Group B action gets underway on May 1, when Nigeria takes on Kenya at 18:00 at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo. Kenya will return to the same venue later that evening for a 21:00 showdown against Morocco.

Defending champions Senegal begin their campaign on May 2 in Suez, facing Central African Republic at 18:00, while DR Congo squares off against Ghana in the later fixture at 21:00.

This year’s edition will adopt a three-group format, with Group A comprising five teams and Groups B and C featuring four teams each. The top two teams from every group, along with the two best third-placed sides, will advance to the quarter-final stage. The tournament will conclude on May 18.

The four semi-finalists will also earn qualification spots for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025, offering Africa another opportunity to shine on the global stage.
