**Nigeria Reach U17 World Cup Final with 4-2 Win Over Mexico**
Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have secured a place in the Under-17 World Cup final for the second consecutive tournament, following a thrilling 4-2 victory over Mexico on Thursday. The Nigerian side had previously beaten Mexico 3-0 in the final two years ago, and they now return to the title stage with renewed determination.
Mexico opened the scoring early, with Magana finding the net in the 7th minute. Nigeria responded in the 35th minute when captain Kelechi Nwakali equalized. Just before half-time, Okonkwo gave Emmanuel Amunike’s side the lead, making it 2-1 at the break.
After the interval, Mexico drew level again through Cortes, but Nigeria quickly regained control. Ebere put the Golden Eaglets back in front, before top scorer Victor Osimhen, who has now netted nine goals in the tournament, converted a penalty in the 85th minute to seal the 4-2 victory.
Sunday’s final promises an all-African showdown, as Mali also booked their first-ever U17 World Cup final appearance with a 3-1 win over Belgium.
With a talented squad led by Nwakali and Osimhen, Nigeria will look to defend their title and continue their dominance in youth football.
