In the first semi-final, Guinea faced Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets in a tightly contested match that ended 0-0 after regulation time. The game went to a penalty shootout, producing a tense and prolonged sequence before Guinea ultimately emerged victorious, 10-9 on penalties.
The second semi-final between Cameroon and Angola followed a similar pattern. After a goalless draw, the Indomitable Lions triumphed 4-3 in the penalty shootout, securing their place in the final.
Before the grand final on Sunday between Guinea and Cameroon, the bronze medal match will take place on Saturday, pitting Nigeria against Angola.
With both semi-finals decided by penalties, the tournament has shown how tightly matched the U17 teams are in this year’s competition, promising an exciting conclusion as the young stars prepare for the final showdown.
