Morocco U-20 coach, Mohamed Wahbi, says he is anticipating a tough clash against Egypt on Thursday.
The two North African sides will clash in the semifinals of the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
“This match has a completely different character than previous encounters between the two teams,” Wehbe said after their hard-fought win against Sierra Leone on Monday.
“We must emphasise, with a warning, that this match is unlike any previous encounter. It’s true that we faced them recently in the qualifiers and won, but this time it’s completely different.
“The Egyptian national team is very enthusiastic after qualifying in front of their fans. They are also free from pressure, so this confrontation must be approached with great wisdom and caution.
“Wehbe expressed his confidence in his players’ abilities despite the challenges facing the team, explaining, “We have confidence in this group. We have overcome many obstacles, the most severe of which are injuries and absences in our ranks.”
He concluded his statements by saying, “The first goal we came for was achieved, thanks to God, which was qualifying for the World Cup. There remains another goal we seek to achieve, which is winning the title. It is a difficult goal to achieve and requires sacrifices, hard work, and great respect for the opponent.”
The much anticipated game has been scheduled to kick off at the 30 June Stadium with kick off scheduled at 18:00 GMT.
