Tylo Sanger: South African centre-back joins Durban City FC from Cape Town Spurs
Durban City FC have added South African centre-back Tylo Sanger to their squad after securing his move from Cape Town Spurs. The defender joins the Betway Premiership club ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, bolstering their options in the heart of defence.
Sanger, a right-footed central defender, arrives at Durban City having most recently been on the books of Cape Town Spurs, whom he joined in November 2024 from CT C FC’s reserve side. His switch marks his first move into the top flight with Durban City competing in the Betway Premiership.
The centre-back has already gained senior experience in domestic cup football, featuring in the Nedbank Cup. He made two appearances in the competition, playing 210 minutes, offering an early glimpse of his ability to handle competitive first-team action.
Sanger’s progression from reserve football at CT C FC Res. to Cape Town Spurs and now to Durban City underlines a steady climb through the South African game. His primary role as a central defender provides Durban City with additional depth in a key area of the pitch as they prepare for the new season.
The deal was completed on 24 July 2026, with Sanger officially registered as a Durban City FC player from that date.
