Two headline fixtures could hand Al Hilal control of the Roshn Saudi League

The fifth round of the Roshn Saudi League could significantly alter the early title race, with Al Hilal facing Al Shabab in the Riyadh derby while Al Ittihad meet Al Nassr in a Saudi Clasico scheduled for almost the same time.

Al Hilal and Al Nassr have both taken 12 points from their opening four matches, making the two games particularly important to the shape of the competition. A slip by Al Nassr, combined with victory for Al Hilal, would allow the reigning leaders to move clear at the top.

The rivalry between Al Hilal and Al Nassr has intensified since last season, with every result involving the two clubs capable of influencing the title battle even at this early stage. This round, however, gives Al Hilal a possible advantage because Al Nassr’s direct meeting with Al Ittihad creates a realistic opportunity for the leaders to lose ground.
