After 40 years without reaching the Turkish Super Lig, Balikésirspor has secured promotion for next season. Togolese player Atakora Lalawelé played a pivotal role in this achievement, scoring a crucial goal in their recent victory against Istanbul BB (2-1).
Lalawelé found the back of the net in the 44th minute, skillfully striking the ball with his right foot after receiving a cross from the left side. His goal set the tone for the match and inspired his teammates to secure the win.
Muhammet Reis extended their lead with a penalty in the 68th minute, although Istanbul BB managed to pull one back through Tayfun Pektürk’s goal. However, at the final whistle, the jubilant crowd stormed the pitch to celebrate their team’s return to the top division.
Throughout the season, Lalawelé, on loan from AIK Stockholm, has been a key player for Balikésirspor, clocking in a total of 2881 minutes across 36 matches.
