Turkish outfit Konyaspor increase offer for Al Ahly star Emam Ashour

Konyaspor have stepped up their efforts to sign Al Ahly midfielder Emam Ashour during the current summer transfer window after increasing their offer for the Egypt international.

The Turkish outfit had previously submitted a proposal to Al Ahly for Ashour, but the Egyptian giants rejected the initial offer as they remain keen to retain the influential midfielder.

However, the Turkish side have not given up on their pursuit and have now returned with an improved bid in an attempt to convince Al Ahly to sanction the transfer.

The latest proposal is reportedly worth $4.25 million, with Konyaspor maintaining their strong interest in securing Ashour’s services ahead of the new season.

The increased offer is expected to put further pressure on Al Ahly as the club considers whether to accept the proposal or continue with their plans to keep the midfielder at the Cairo-based giants.

Ashour remains under contract with Al Ahly until June 2028, meaning the club is under no immediate pressure to sell the player.

At the same time, Al Ahly are working to secure Ashour’s long-term future by negotiating a new and improved contract with the midfielder.

The club have reportedly offered him an annual salary of EGP 30 million, in addition to potential bonuses worth EGP 10 million.

The proposed renewal would represent a significant financial commitment from Al Ahly and underline the club’s desire to keep the midfielder as part of their plans for the coming seasons.

Ashour has become an important figure within the Al Ahly squad and is regarded as one of the key players the club would prefer to retain as they prepare for another demanding campaign.

Konyaspor’s renewed offer therefore presents Al Ahly with an important decision, particularly with the Turkish club showing a willingness to improve their proposal.

For now, Al Ahly remain in discussions with Ashour over a contract extension, while Konyaspor continue to push for a deal that would take the Egyptian midfielder to Turkey.

With Ashour’s current contract running until 2028, Al Ahly hold a strong negotiating position, but the latest offer from Konyaspor could determine whether the two clubs enter into further discussions over a potential transfer.
