Tunisia international Ali Abdi has shared his excitement after extending contract with French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice.
The talented defender signed a contract that will keep him at Nice until summer 2027 and is expected to play a significant role at the club.
“I’m really proud to have an extra season at this really great club, and to see the faith they have in me through this contract extension. I have a deep desire to do great things with the team. We have a super squad, super staff, and a stimulating end to the season lies before us. I hope we’ll make the fans proud with our results and the fight we’ll show on the pitch.” He said.
The 31-year-old defender joined Nice last summer from Ligue 2 club Caen and has since established himself as a key cog to the team.
Ali Abdi has become fans favourite at the club, thanks to his exemplary attitude and commitment on the pitch.
The enterprising left-back has started ten games in Ligue 1 this season, and opened his account with a goal against Paris Saint-Germain in early October. The 31-year-old now has two goals and two assists in the top-flight.
Ali Abdi has seen significantly more game time than most would have expected since joining the club.
He was largely considered a player who would be a backup to Melvin Bard (24) when he first arrived, but head coach Franck Haise has created a system that fields both players.
