Tunisian striker Issam Jebali attracts fresh interest from Saudi Clubs
Saudi Arabian clubs are once again showing interest in Tunisian international striker Issam Jebali, with Al Hazem and Abha closely monitoring the experienced forward despite his recent contract extension in Japan.
The 34-year-old recently committed his future to Japanese side Gamba Osaka by signing a new two-year deal. However, that has not deterred Saudi clubs from exploring the possibility of bringing the striker back to the Kingdom during the upcoming transfer window.
According to information from Africasoccer, both Al Hazem and Abha are following developments surrounding Jebali’s situation. Among the interested parties, Al Hazem is currently viewed as the leading contender in the race to secure the Tunisian’s signature.
A key factor working in Al Hazem’s favour is the presence of former Tunisia national team coach Jalel Kadri. The coach is familiar with Jebali’s qualities from their time together with the national side and is believed to appreciate the striker’s experience and attacking abilities.
A move to Saudi Arabia would not represent unfamiliar territory for Jebali. The forward previously featured for Al Wehda during the 2019 season, leaving a positive impression before moving on to continue his career in Denmark and later Japan.
Since joining Gamba Osaka in 2023, Jebali has remained an important figure for the Japanese club. His performances and experience have continued to attract attention from clubs seeking proven attacking options.
The Tunisian’s profile has been further enhanced by a successful campaign on the continental stage. He played a significant role in helping his team win the AFC Champions League 2 title, producing impressive displays throughout the competition.
His contributions during the tournament earned widespread recognition, culminating in him being named the competition’s best player. The campaign ended on a high note with a final victory over Al Nassr, further strengthening his reputation.
With the summer transfer window approaching, speculation surrounding Jebali’s future is expected to intensify. While his new contract offers stability in Japan, interest from Saudi Arabia presents another option for a player who already knows the league well.
The coming weeks could prove decisive as the Tunisian international weighs his next move amid growing attention from clubs eager to add his experience and goalscoring qualities to their squads.
