Tunisian rising star Louey Ben Farhat on the radar of Olympique Lyon, other top European clubs
Tunisian striker Louey Ben Farhat is steadily strengthening his reputation as one of the most promising young talents emerging in European football after delivering another notable performance for Karlsruher SC.
The 19-year-old forward played a key role in his team’s dramatic 3–3 draw against Dynamo Dresden, finding the net for what would have been his fifth goal of the season. Ben Farhat believed he had secured victory for his side, only for the effort to later be ruled out for offside.
Despite the disappointment of the disallowed goal, the moment further highlighted the youngster’s potential and drew the attention of a large number of scouts present at the Wildparkstadion. According to German outlet Neues Nachrichten, several clubs sent representatives to monitor the striker closely.
Interest in the player has not been limited to German teams. Scouts from prominent French clubs such as Olympique Lyonnais and OGC Nice were also in attendance and were reportedly impressed by the forward’s ability to influence matches at such a young age.
Reports suggest that Karlsruher SC would be open to negotiating a transfer for their emerging striker if offers in the region of 10 to 12 million euros arrive. Such a fee would represent a record sale for the club.
The German side is also hoping that Ben Farhat’s exposure on the international stage with the Tunisia national football team at the upcoming FIFA World Cup could further increase his market value and strengthen his chances of securing a move to one of Europe’s bigger clubs.
