Tunisia’s National Professional Football League (LNFP) has rejected appeals challenging Aymen Harzi’s eligibility to play for Club Africain.

The league’s board delivered its decision on Thursday following complaints lodged by Club Athlétique Bizertin (CAB) and Club Sportif Sfaxien (CSS).

Both clubs had questioned Harzi’s participation in the 19th and 20th rounds of Ligue 1, arguing that the striker should have been serving an automatic suspension.

The dispute centred on three yellow cards Harzi accumulated while playing for Union Sportive Monastirienne prior to his move.

Under current disciplinary regulations, a player who collects three yellow cards must serve a one-match suspension, even if he transfers to another club before completing it.

CAB and CSS contended that the suspension had not been enforced before Harzi featured for Club Africain in subsequent league fixtures.

They maintained that allowing him to play constituted an irregularity and sought action from the league authorities.

After examining the case file and supporting documents, the LNFP concluded that the appeals did not provide sufficient grounds to overturn the results of the matches concerned or to impose sanctions on Club Africain.

The governing body determined that Harzi’s appearances complied with applicable regulations.

As a result, the outcomes of the 19th and 20th round fixtures remain unchanged.

Harzi’s participation has been formally validated, bringing clarity to the matter and ending uncertainty surrounding the player’s status.

The ruling closes a chapter that had drawn attention across Tunisian football, with competing interpretations of the disciplinary code at the heart of the disagreement.

For Club Africain, the decision ensures stability, while CAB and CSS must now accept the league’s verdict.
