Youssef Zouaoui is reportedly set to become the next interim coach of the Tunisian national football team, according to sources close to the Tunisian Football Federation. The 67-year-old, who previously coached Esperance de Tunis, is currently engaged in discussions with Tunisian football authorities regarding his appointment. It is anticipated that he will assume the role from March 5, coinciding with Tunisia’s friendly match against Colombia.
Tunisia has been without a permanent coach for several months, relying on interim appointments such as Ruud Krol during the World Cup play-offs. Despite the conclusion of the tournament, the search for a long-term coach continues as Tunisia prepares for the upcoming qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations.
