CRISIS AT CS SFAXIEN: PAULO DUARTE’S FUTURE UNCERTAIN AFTER BEDOUI’S RESIGNATION
Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien are facing a leadership crisis following the resignation of sporting director Naceur Bedoui. Now, head coach Paulo Duarte could be next to leave.
According to Mosaique FM, the club’s technical committee is reportedly seeking an amicable termination of the Portuguese manager’s contract. Duarte, whose deal runs until June 2016, insists he remains in charge and is committed to fulfilling his duties.
The pressure stems from a disastrous season in which CSS failed to qualify for the group stage of the CAF Champions League, exited the CAF Confederation Cup prematurely, and suffered elimination from the Tunisian Cup.
Despite Duarte’s denial of departure rumors, speculation is mounting. Local reports claim the club is already considering potential replacements, including Chiheb Ellili, Lasaâd Dridi, and Ammar Souayah.
With instability at the top and poor results on the pitch, CS Sfaxien is in urgent need of clarity and direction before the new season begins.
