Club Africain Eyeing Mounir El Hamdaoui for Winter Reinforcement
Club Africain could make a major move in the upcoming winter transfer window with the potential signing of Mounir El Hamdaoui. The Moroccan international striker, currently on the books of Fiorentina in Italy’s Serie A, is struggling for playing time and could seek a contract termination ahead of schedule.
El Hamdaoui, who previously starred for AZ Alkmaar and Ajax Amsterdam, joined Fiorentina in July 2012. However, persistent injuries and a lack of confidence from the coaching staff have stalled his career in Italy. Last season, he was loaned out to Malaga, but his return to Florence this year has not changed his fortunes.
According to Corriere dello Sport, El Hamdaoui’s move to Club Africain could be finalized in the coming weeks. The Tunisian giants are currently leading the national league with 25 points and view the experienced forward as a valuable asset to boost their title campaign.
If the deal goes through, it could mark a fresh start for El Hamdaoui while giving Club Africain a proven goal scorer for the second half of the season.
