TUNISIA / LIGUE 1: LEADER ESPÉRANCE TUNIS FALLS IN BÉJA

Olympique de Béja caused a major upset by defeating Espérance Sportive de Tunis 3-1 during the 25th day of Ligue 1 in Tunisia. Aymen Kethiri, Alaeddine Abbess, and Adama Traoré scored for Béja, securing a first-half lead. Khaled Mouelhi scored a penalty for Espérance in the second half. Olympique de Béja’s victory brings them closer to the top of the rankings.

The defeat for Espérance de Tunis allowed Bizertin Athletic Club to capitalize and climb to the top of Ligue 1. Bizertin Athletic Club secured a 2-0 victory against Union Sportive Monastirienne, with goals from Ahmed Zway and Edem Rejaibi.

In other matches, ES Hammam Sousse secured a valuable 1-0 victory against CS Hammam-Lif, with Aymen Ben Fadhl scoring from the penalty spot. Gafsa won the southern derby against Esperance Sportive de Zarzis with a 2-1 scoreline, thanks to Nabil Hamed’s brace. Jeunesse Sportive Kairouanaise defeated Avenir Sportif de Gabes 2-1, and the match between Beni Khalled and Stade Tunisien ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the final match of the day, African Club and CS Sfaxien played to a 1-1 draw. Fakhreddine Ben Youssef scored for CS Sfaxien, while Oussama Haddadi equalized for African Club in the last minute of regulation time.

In the standings, Espérance Sportive de Tunis remains at the top but is now level on points with Club Bizerte. L’Avenir Sportive de Marsa occupies the third position. At the bottom of the table, Gabès Sports Association is 15th with 22 points, and Beni Khalled is at the bottom with 20 points.
