Tunisia held by Botswana as first 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying win is delayed

Tunisia were held to a 2-2 draw by Botswana in the second round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Rades Stadium in Tunis.

The result means Tunisia are still waiting for their first victory in the qualifying campaign after also drawing with Uganda in their opening match.

Hazem Mastouri scored both of Tunisia’s goals, while Botswana replied through Thato Kgamanyane and Lebogang Ditsele.

Tunisia now have two points from their opening two matches, the same total as Botswana, and sit second in the group.

The match was only the second in charge for Tunisia manager Moein Chaabani since his appointment.
