Tunisia forward Youssef Abdelli leaves US Monastir and becomes a free agent

Tunisia and France centre-forward Youssef Abdelli has left US Monastir and is now without a club after completing his move away from the Ligue 1 side on 14 September 2026.

The 28-year-old, who was born in Tunis, spent the most recent part of his club career with US Monastir after returning to the club from Esperance in January 2025. He joined US Monastir from Esperance on a free transfer and has now departed the Tunisian side.

Abdelli is a right-footed striker standing 1.83m tall. His career has included spells with several Tunisian clubs, as well as Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia and the reserve teams of French clubs RC Lens and Nice.

He won the Tunisian league twice during his career, with Esperance in 2019-20 and Etoile Sportive du Sahel in 2022-23. He was also part of the US Monastir side that won the Tunisian Super Cup in 2021.

Abdelli moved from US Monastir to Al-Ahli in July 2022 for a fee of €590,000. He later joined Etoile Sportive du Sahel on a free transfer in January 2023, before returning to Tunisia after a period without a club.

During his time with Al-Ahli, Abdelli won the Saudi Arabian second tier title in the 2022-23 season. His career has therefore taken him across Tunisia, France and Saudi Arabia, with his latest departure leaving him available without a club.

The move brings an end to his latest spell at US Monastir, where he had been registered in the Tunisian top flight. Abdelli’s market value is €300,000, while his highest recorded value was €600,000.

The Tunisia-France international is now unattached following his completed departure from US Monastir on 14 September 2026.
