Fakhreddine Ben Youssef Joins Metz, Ferjani Sassi to Follow
As previously reported by Africa Top Sports, Fakhreddine Ben Youssef has officially completed his transfer to FC Metz, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Ligue 1 club. The Tunisian international forward, formerly with Club Sportif Sfaxien, passed his medical and sealed the move for a fee of around €1.2 million.
The Carthage Eagles star will soon be joined by his compatriot Ferjani Sassi, a central midfielder also at CSS, whose transfer is reportedly valued at €500,000. Sassi is expected to sign a contract through June 2018, pending a successful medical and visa clearance.
These signings mark a busy winter window for Metz, who had already landed Latvian prospect Janis Ikaunieks (19, FK Liepaja). Club president Bernard Serin appears determined to strengthen the squad as Metz looks to secure its position in France’s top flight.
