Tunisia’s U20 national team faces a daunting challenge in the upcoming Africa U20 Cup of Nations after being drawn into a highly competitive Group B alongside Nigeria, Kenya and Morocco.
The draw, confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), places Tunisia in one of the tournament’s most demanding groups.
The North African side was included in the final lineup as a late addition and now prepares to navigate a path through a quartet featuring two regional powerhouses and an ambitious Kenyan team.
The 2025 edition of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Egypt from 27 April to 18 May.
The host nation will feature in Group A, where they are set to compete against Zambia, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Tanzania.
Group C is also expected to be fiercely contested, comprising Senegal, Central African Republic, Ghana and DR Congo—all nations with a strong youth football pedigree.
For Tunisia, the task is clear but far from easy.
Nigeria remains a dominant force at youth level on the continent, with a rich history of success in U20 competitions.
Morocco, fresh from recent strong showings at multiple age levels, will also pose a significant threat.
Kenya, while not traditionally a heavyweight in African youth football, continues to make strides and could prove to be a wildcard in the group.
The tournament in Egypt will mark a crucial opportunity for emerging talent across the continent to shine on a major stage
. Tunisia, despite being drafted in late, will be hoping to make a strong impression and progress beyond the group phase.
