Tunisia defender Nassim Hnid leaves Al-Ramtha SC after brief Jordan spell

Tunisia centre-back Nassim Hnid is without a club after completing his departure from Al-Ramtha SC, ending his short spell in Jordan on 3 September 2026.

The 29-year-old joined Al-Ramtha from Tunisian side ES Sahel on 17 August, having moved there as a free agent. His time with the Jordanian Pro League club lasted less than three weeks before he became unattached again.

Hnid is a 1.91m right-footed defender whose career has included spells across Tunisia, Greece, Qatar, Morocco, Lithuania, Bahrain and Jordan. He began his senior career with CS Sfaxien after progressing from ES Zarzis Under-19s and later made a €600,000 move to AEK Athens in August 2020.

The centre-back subsequently spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Al-Sailiya SC in Qatar, where he won the Qatari Stars Cup. He returned to AEK Athens before joining Moroccan club Olympique Khouribga in August 2022, again on a free transfer.

Hnid moved to Lithuanian side FK Zalgiris Vilnius in February 2023 and helped the club win the Lithuanian Super Cup that year. He then switched to Bahrain’s Al-Muharraq in January 2024, before returning to Tunisia with ES Sahel in August 2024.

His club career includes 91 Ligue 1 appearances, as well as appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup, Qatar Stars League, Turkish top-flight football and European qualifying competitions. He has scored in domestic and continental competition, including two goals in the CAF Confederation Cup and one in Europa League qualifying.

Hnid also lifted the Tunisian Cup with CS Sfaxien in the 2018-19 season, adding to the honours collected during a career that has taken him through several leagues. His recorded market value is €300,000.

The defender’s latest change of status follows his departure from Al-Ramtha, and he is now unattached.
