Tunisia’s national team coach, Alain Giresse, has announced a provisional list of 17 players based abroad ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. These players are scheduled to join the Tunisian squad for a training camp running from June 1 to June 11 as part of the final preparations for the tournament.
The overseas-based call-ups include goalkeepers Farouk Ben Mustapha and Mouez Hassen, alongside defenders Mohamed Drager, Rami Bédoui, Yassine Meriah, Dylan Bronn, Oussema Haddadi, and Ali Maaloul. Midfield options feature Nader Ghandri, Ellyes Skhiri, Ferjani Sassi, Naim Sliti, Bassem Srarfi, and Seifeddine Khaoui, while the attack is represented by Youssef Msakni, Wahbi Khazri, and Fakhreddine Ben Youssef.
Giresse’s decision to initially call up only foreign-based players reflects his focus on assembling experienced talent accustomed to competitive leagues abroad, aiming to integrate them into the team’s tactical setup before the final squad is confirmed.
The list of locally-based players, who will also participate in the preparatory camp, is scheduled to be announced on May 30. This final selection will complete Tunisia’s roster ahead of the tournament, allowing Giresse to evaluate all options and finalize the squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
