Tunisia will face a challenging set of international friendlies as it prepares for the 2026 World Cup, aiming to fine-tune its squad under new coach Sabri Lamouchi.
The Eagles of Carthage, seeking to rebound from disappointing results at the Arab Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations, will play four matches against a mix of established teams and emerging sides.
Lamouchi will use these games to implement his tactical vision and assess his players ahead of the tournament.
Tunisia will open its preparation in North America, taking on Haiti on 28 March and Canada on 31 March at Toronto’s stadium.
Following these matches, the team will travel to Europe for two additional friendlies, facing Austria in Vienna on 1 June and Belgium in Brussels on 6 June.
“With the new coaching staff, these friendlies are crucial to adapt the team to the demands of the World Cup and to integrate our tactical plans,” a Tunisian Football Federation spokesperson said.
Tunisia has been drawn into Group F at the 2026 World Cup, alongside the Netherlands, Japan, and an as-yet-undetermined fourth opponent.
The friendlies are intended to give Lamouchi sufficient time—over two months—to assess the squad, refine strategies, and build cohesion among the players.
The schedule will provide the team with both high-level competition and opportunities to test emerging talents, helping Tunisia strike a balance between defensive stability and attacking creativity.
Fans and analysts will watch closely to gauge the team’s readiness for football’s biggest stage.
