Tuchel praises Anthony Gordon after England forward reaches ‘another level’

England manager Thomas Tuchel says Anthony Gordon is playing with greater aggression and confidence after producing an impressive run of form for both club and country.

Gordon, who is listed as a Barcelona player, was praised by Tuchel following England’s emphatic 7-0 victory over Croatia in the third round of Group C matches in the Nations League.

“He is now playing with greater aggression and confidence,” Tuchel told reporters.

“I see a player with a great deal of confidence and belief in his ability. He has reached another level.”

Tuchel added: “He has become more confident in himself, and that is reflected in his performances for both his club and the national team.”

England’s Group C also includes Spain and the Czech Republic.

Despite their commanding win against Croatia, England are second in the group, three points behind leaders Spain.

Tuchel’s side will face the Czech Republic at Wembley on Tuesday in their fourth Nations League match.
