TS Galaxy face FIFA registration ban ahead of new PSL season

TS Galaxy will begin the 2026/27 PSL season under another FIFA registration ban, leaving the club unable to register several new signings before their opening match.

The ban remains active as the new campaign approaches its start on Saturday, with the latest update from FIFA confirming that Tim Sukazi’s club is still blacklisted.

That means Galaxy have not yet completed the required process to make all of their new arrivals eligible to play in an official competition. Although the players have signed for the club, they cannot currently be registered while the sanction remains in place.

The ban came into effect on 27 February 2026 and will remain active until FIFA lifts it.

Galaxy’s new recruits include Sifiso Ngobeni, Zuko Gxabusa, Edson Khumalo, Camagu Mdevulana, Mpho Maoke, Anslin William, Simthandile Sishi, Bongani van den Heede, Lennol Mathebula, Azola Jakalashe, Thabelo Tshikweta, Katekane Mhlongo, Nhlakanipho Ngwenya and Siphesihle Tati.

Club boss Tim Sukazi has said the matter is linked to bureaucracy involving the FIFA Clearing House.

The club are due to begin their campaign away to Siwelele at the Free State Stadium on Sunday, although the wider 2026/27 season starts on Saturday. The registration issue leaves uncertainty over which of Galaxy’s new signings will be available for the match.

The situation echoes the difficulties the club experienced last season, when a similar FIFA registration ban contributed to a poor start and an ultimately disappointing campaign.

Galaxy were unable to register a number of new players early in the previous season, including Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi, Anslin William, Matome Mmolai, Mzwandile Dlamini, Siyabonga Nguessan, Onke Moletshe, Sedwyn George and Veluyeke Zulu.

At that time, the club faced a series of bans, with as many as five imposed. Galaxy spent hundreds of thousands of Rands to have those sanctions removed.

The latest ban therefore creates another potential obstacle for a club hoping to avoid a repeat of last season’s problems. With their first fixture approaching, Galaxy must resolve the matter before the players affected can be registered and selected for competitive action.

The current transfer window will remain open until 22 September, giving the club time to seek a resolution. However, the FIFA restriction is already in force as the PSL season moves towards its opening weekend.
