Al Ahly will be without midfielder Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” for their upcoming clash against El Gouna on Thursday.
The Egyptian giants are set to host El Gouna at Cairo Stadium at 9:30 pm in the 18th round of the Premier League. Trezeguet suffered a grade-one hamstring strain during Al Ahly’s recent match against JS Kabylie, ruling him out of selection for the fixture.
A club source confirmed, “Trezeguet will not be available for the El Gouna match in the Egyptian League, thus falling out of Jess Thorup’s plans.”
The source added that the midfielder is expected to be medically cleared for the team’s next league encounter against Smouha on Monday, February 23, though final inclusion will depend on Torup’s decision.
Trezeguet has been actively following his rehabilitation program under the supervision of Al Ahly’s medical staff, continuing his recovery during Tuesday’s training session.
