Gennaro Gattuso, the former AC Milan midfielder and 2006 World Cup champion, has been appointed as the coach of Palermo. Palermo was relegated to Serie B, and Gattuso has signed a one-season contract with two years of option. His primary goal will be to guide Palermo back to Serie A. Gattuso, who previously played for AC Milan, has coaching experience and was last associated with FC Sion, where he held the role of coach-player before being sacked in May.
