Arthur Masuaku Close to Joining Olympique de Marseille
Olympique de Marseille is poised to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season with the possible signing of Franco-Congolese defender Arthur Masuaku. The promising full-back, currently playing for Valenciennes, has attracted the attention of Marseille’s management as they look to reinforce their defensive options.
According to La Provence, the transfer is expected to be finalized this week, pending Valenciennes’ financial review by the DNCG on Wednesday. Marseille is reportedly prepared to offer around €1.2 million for Masuaku. However, the northern club’s urgent need for funds could see the price drop closer to €600,000, the initial figure proposed by OM president Vincent Labrune.
Masuaku’s arrival would bolster Marseille’s backline as the club aims to compete strongly next season, with the young defender seen as a valuable addition to the squad. Negotiations are ongoing, and an official announcement could come soon.
