Adil Rami Eager to Stay at AC Milan but Uncertain of Future Amid Transfer Talks
Adil Rami’s future remains up in the air as AC Milan is not keen on making his loan move from Valencia permanent, despite the French international’s resurgence in the Serie A. The central defender, who has regained his form with the Rossoneri this season, is reportedly keen to finish his career at Milan. However, with his loan spell nearing its end, it seems unlikely that Milan’s management will exercise the option to sign him permanently.
Speaking to RMC, Rami expressed his desire to remain at Milan, acknowledging the club’s stature and his personal development while playing in Italy. However, he also emphasized that his future is still uncertain. “I don’t think about it too much. I haven’t forgotten where I come from, I have a lot of respect for the French league, but it depends where,” he explained when asked about a potential return to Ligue 1. Rami also addressed rumors linking him to Olympique Marseille, stating that while he respects the club, “this is not the time to talk about transfers.”
As his time at Milan draws to a close, Rami is also focused on his international prospects. He remains hopeful about being included in the French squad for the upcoming World Cup. Reflecting on his form, he said, “I’m at AC Milan, one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’m part of a team that’s making a big comeback, I’m playing in the starting matches, and I’m having good matches with goals and assists as a bonus.”
Rami has been a key figure for Milan this season, contributing both defensively and offensively, and is determined to maintain his solid performances. “I’m not claiming anything, but if I have to defend my record with the French team, it’s good, clean. In terms of behavior, I’ve been pretty well-behaved. On the pitch, I’ve been pretty effective. I was part of a French team that was practically undefeated for two years. That’s not nothing. Of course, I want to play for the French team.”
The future remains unclear for the experienced central defender, but Rami’s ambitions for both his club and international career remain high.
