TRANSFER RUMORS: MANCINI TARGETS YAYA TOURÉ FOR INTER MOVE
Could Yaya Touré be headed to Serie A? Reports from both Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport and England’s Daily Star suggest that Roberto Mancini, the current Inter Milan manager and former Manchester City boss, is eager to reunite with the Ivorian midfielder.
Mancini, who guided Touré to Premier League glory at City, has identified the powerful midfielder as a top target to bolster Inter’s squad. Touré, 31, has been regularly linked with a move away from Manchester, and while PSG are also said to be in the race, Mancini’s personal relationship with the player could tilt the balance.
Asked about his future recently, Touré gave little away:
“I don’t know. I’m at City. It’s a big club where I’ve already achieved a lot.”
In addition to Touré, James Milner—another former Mancini protégé and free agent in June—is also reportedly on Inter’s radar.
Should the move materialize, it would mark Touré’s first experience in Italian football and a major statement of intent from Inter Milan as they rebuild under Mancini’s leadership.
