Bafetimbi Gomis in talks with English clubs but Galatasaray deal stalls over wage demands
Istanbul, 16 May 2025
Bafetimbi Gomis is attracting interest from several English clubs as his contract with Lyon nears its end. However, reports from the Turkish media suggest that talks with Galatasaray are unlikely to progress, with the Istanbul-based club reportedly put off by the striker’s high wage demands.
The 28-year-old Lyon forward, who has scored 14 goals in 33 Ligue 1 appearances this season, is said to be seeking a lucrative four-year contract worth around €4 million gross per year, along with a substantial signing bonus.
Faced with these financial expectations, Galatasaray appears to have stepped back from negotiations, leaving Gomis’s future uncertain as the summer transfer window approaches.
