Michy Batshuayi is set to complete a move to Olympique de Marseille, with the striker reportedly having accepted a contract offer from club president Vincent Labrune. According to French sports daily L’Équipe, the final hurdle remains agreeing on a transfer fee with Standard de Liège, Batshuayi’s current club. The fee is believed to be in the region of €6 million to €8 million.
Batshuayi’s transfer would mark a significant addition to Marseille’s attacking options, as the 22-year-old Belgian forward has attracted interest from several English clubs. Despite this, he has chosen to continue his career in Ligue 1, following discussions with Marseille’s management.
Meanwhile, Marseille is also reportedly close to securing the signing of Rennes winger Romain Alessandrini. The Marseille-born winger has been linked with a move to the Stade Vélodrome in recent months. Ouest-France reports that the transfer is likely to be finalised soon, with the fee estimated to be around €4 million.
This potential double signing indicates Marseille’s intent to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season, aiming to improve their attacking creativity and goal-scoring capabilities.
The pursuit of Alessandrini, a player with close ties to the city, alongside Batshuayi, reflects the club’s ambition to blend local talent with promising internationals as they seek to challenge for honours in French football. Both moves are expected to be confirmed in the coming days, pending final negotiations and medicals.
