Adamo Nagalo has been placed on the transfer market by PSV Eindhoven after a difficult spell in the Netherlands, with the club urging the Burkina Faso international to find a new destination before the January 2026 window closes.

The 22-year-old defender has struggled to establish himself since his arrival at PSV, with injuries and a lack of continuity limiting his impact in Eindhoven.

According to information, the club’s management has now made its position clear, signalling that Nagalo is no longer central to their sporting plans and should seek opportunities elsewhere.

Nagalo’s situation was underlined this week when he was omitted from PSV’s squad for their Champions League fixture against Newcastle United.

The Dutch side went on to lose 3-0, but the decision to leave the Burkinabè international out was described as a purely sporting one, reflecting his current standing within the team rather than any short-term tactical choice.

Since joining PSV in the summer of 2024 from Danish side FC Nordsjælland for an estimated fee of €7m, Nagalo has found it difficult to replicate the form that made him one of the most promising young defenders in Scandinavia.

Recurrent physical problems have disrupted his rhythm, preventing him from putting together a sustained run of matches at club level.

This lack of consistency has weighed heavily on his prospects in a squad competing on multiple fronts, where competition for places is intense and expectations remain high.

PSV, aiming to maintain their domestic ambitions and remain competitive in Europe, appear unwilling to wait for a prolonged recovery period before seeing a return on their investment.

The club is now considering an early separation, less than two years after his arrival, as part of a broader reassessment of the squad during the winter transfer window.

Whether a permanent move or a loan is pursued has not been specified, but the message to the player is clear: a fresh start elsewhere may be the best solution for all parties.

For Nagalo, the coming weeks will be decisive.

A move away from Eindhoven could offer the chance to regain match fitness and rebuild confidence, while PSV look to streamline their options ahead of the second half of the season.
