It seems that Younes Belhanda, the midfielder and French Ligue 1 champion with Montpellier in the 2012-2013 season, is set to leave the club during the summer. Belhanda has an exit voucher and expressed his desire to play in the Champions League next season.
In an interview with L’Equipe, Belhanda mentioned his wish to play in the Champions League, but he is also open to signing with a club that has a good track record. Despite interest from various clubs, he has ruled out a move to another Ligue 1 team, stating that he won’t learn anything more by staying in the same league.
Courted by clubs like Inter Milan, Belhanda has a preference for English or German clubs. He mentioned, “I want to go to England or Germany. I think I am made for this football that is both physical and technical, full of risk-taking.”
Having had what he described as a “difficult” season, the 23-year-old player, whose contract runs until 2015, is open to leaving Montpellier if an interesting proposal comes his way.
