Tranmere bring in England and Sierra Leone forward David Kamara from Peterborough

England and Sierra Leone forward David Kamara has joined Tranmere from Peterborough on loan until 31 May 2027.

The 20-year-old centre-forward moved to the League Two club on 1 September and becomes part of Tranmere’s attacking options for the 2026-27 campaign. Kamara is listed at 1.86m and is predominantly right-footed.

Kamara arrives after spending time in Peterborough’s senior and development setup. He joined Peterborough United from Welling United on a free transfer in July 2024 before representing Peterborough United Under-21s.

During the 2025-26 season, Kamara had loan spells with King’s Lynn and Harborough. His move to King’s Lynn began in October 2025, while he subsequently joined Harborough in November before returning to Peterborough United Under-21s at the end of each temporary spell.

He was also part of the Peterborough side that won the Football League Trophy in the 2024-25 season, collecting the first major honour recorded in his career.

Kamara has already featured twice in the EFL Cup during the 2026-27 season, playing 28 minutes in total. He has not yet made a league appearance this campaign.

His arrival at Tranmere gives the club a young central attacking player with experience of moving between senior and development football. The forward’s current spell at Prenton Park is scheduled to end on 31 May 2027, when he is due to return to Peterborough.

Kamara’s move continues a series of temporary switches during his early senior career, following his spells with King’s Lynn and Harborough. He began his pathway at Welling United, having previously played for Welling Under-18s.

The transfer was completed on 1 September 2026, with Kamara joining Tranmere for the 2026-27 season.
