Trabzonspor prepare Mohamed Salah move after accepting upfront salary request
Trabzonspor have agreed to Mohamed Salah’s first request as negotiations over a possible move for the Egypt captain reach an advanced stage, according to Turkish newspaper 61 Saat.
The Turkish club are now waiting for Salah’s final response before completing the formal steps required to sign him during the current summer transfer window.
The report says Salah asked to receive part of his salary in advance. Trabzonspor accepted the request immediately, in an effort to narrow the remaining differences and move the discussions towards an agreement.
Although the transfer has not yet been completed, the latest development suggests the negotiations have progressed significantly. Club officials are understood to be seeking a final decision from Salah before arranging the next stage of the proposed move.
61 Saat also reported that, provided there are no negative developments, Trabzonspor will send a private aircraft to Greece on Wednesday. The plane would transport Salah to Istanbul before he continues his journey to the city of Trabzon to complete the procedures linked to his transfer.
The prospect of signing the Egyptian forward has generated considerable excitement among Trabzonspor supporters. The club’s administration is preparing a special reception for the player when he arrives, although that welcome will only take place if the deal is finalised.
Salah’s possible arrival has become the main focus of the club’s transfer activity. Trabzonspor are expected to turn their attention to strengthening their attack once negotiations involving the Liverpool icon have been concluded.
The club reportedly do not believe Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu would be enough to lead the forward line on his own. As a result, further attacking recruitment is expected after the Salah file has been resolved.
Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan is due to hold a meeting with head coach Fatih Tekke after the club’s pre-season training camp. That meeting will be used to decide which additional signings are needed and to determine the next steps in the club’s transfer plans.
For now, the Turkish side remain focused on securing Salah’s answer and completing the arrangements for his potential visit to Istanbul and Trabzon. The proposed private flight and planned reception indicate the level of expectation surrounding the negotiations, but the move still depends on the player’s final response and the completion of the formal transfer process.
