Thomas Reis has instructed Trabzonspor players to look for Mohamed Salah’s runs behind the Samsunspor defence when the two sides meet in the Turkish league on Saturday.
Trabzonspor are due to host Samsunspor at 16:00 on Saturday as they look to build on their 4-0 victory over Galatasaray before the international break.
According to Turkish website 61saat, Reis has devised a plan designed to make the most of Salah’s speed by sending the ball into space behind the opposition’s defensive line. The approach is intended to repeat the success of the match against Galatasaray.
Salah scored a hat-trick and provided an assist as Trabzonspor recorded their emphatic win, giving them a significant boost before the league resumed.
The report said Reis had given his players a clear instruction: “When you see Salah running, pass the ball to him directly.”
It added that Salah, who has impressed with his pace in both the English Premier League and the Turkish league, is expected to produce another strong performance against Samsunspor.
Trabzonspor are seventh in the league table with 10 points from six matches, three points behind the leaders. Samsunspor are 16th, having collected four points.
Salah currently leads the Turkish league’s scoring charts with seven goals, level with Nigerian forward Gift Orban of Amed Spor.
