Trabzonspor keen to keep Cameroon Keeper André Onana after impressive loan spell
Trabzonspor are reportedly pushing to retain Cameroon international André Onana for another season following an impressive loan spell in Turkey.
Onana has emerged as a key figure for the Turkish outfit, delivering a series of strong performances and playing an important role in the club’s run to the Turkish Cup final.
His consistency and experience have reportedly convinced Trabzonspor officials to explore the possibility of extending his stay beyond the current campaign.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are understood to be open to allowing the goalkeeper to leave again this summer, with another loan deal viewed as the most realistic outcome at this stage.
A permanent transfer has not been completely ruled out, although the financial package required to secure the former Inter Milan shot-stopper on a long-term deal could prove challenging for the Turkish side.
Trabzonspor may also face competition in the race for the 30-year-old, with fellow Turkish giants Beşiktaş J.K. reportedly monitoring the situation closely ahead of the summer transfer window.
With his future at Old Trafford still uncertain, Onana is expected to attract significant interest should Manchester United decide to sanction another move away from the club.
