Trabzonspor edge ahead as Salih strikes twice against Basaksehir
Trabzonspor moved 2-1 in front against Basaksehir in the second round of the Turkish league, with Salih scoring twice, including shortly after the restart, in an eventful live encounter.

The goal put Trabzonspor back in front after Basaksehir had recovered from an early setback and levelled the game through Eldor Shomurodov.
First-half action
Trabzonspor made the breakthrough before the 20-minute mark, although the goal was only confirmed after a review by the video assistant referee. Salih was credited with the opening goal following the VAR check.
Basaksehir were given an opportunity to respond in the 17th minute when the referee awarded a penalty for handball inside the area.
Two minutes later, Shomurodov converted to make it 1-1.
Trabzonspor continued to create openings, with Salih at the centre of their attacking threat. In the 31st minute, the Basaksehir goalkeeper produced an excellent save to deny him a second goal with a well-struck effort.
The goalkeeper was called upon again in the 40th minute, making another important stop to keep out a further attempt from Salih.
There had been an earlier warning for Basaksehir in the eighth minute, when an effort from Salih was cleared off the goal line.
The first half ended level, but Trabzonspor regained the advantage almost immediately after the interval through Salih’s second goal of the match.
