Sidny Cabral set to join Trabzonspor

Turkish outfit Trabzonspor are on the verge of securing the services of Cape Verde international Sidny Cabral ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to emerging reports, negotiations between the Turkish Cup winners and the player’s representatives are at an advanced stage, with sources suggesting that an agreement is already in place ahead of a potential transfer.

The 23-year-old, who has attracted attention across Europe following an impressive campaign in Portugal, is understood to be a key target for Trabzonspor as they look to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new season.

Cabral has enjoyed a standout season in Liga Portugal, contributing significantly both defensively and offensively. While featuring for Estrela and Benfica during the campaign, he recorded six goals and five assists — an impressive return for a defender and a reflection of his attacking influence from deep positions.

Despite being under contract with Benfica until 2030, his future has come under increasing speculation due to growing interest from abroad, with Trabzonspor now believed to be in pole position to complete a deal.

The Turkish side, fresh from their domestic cup success, are determined to reinforce their squad as they prepare for both domestic and European commitments. Cabral is seen as a long-term investment who can add versatility, pace, and technical quality to their back line.

While no official confirmation has been made by either club, optimism is growing in Turkey that the transfer could be finalized soon if final details are resolved.

For Cabral, a move to Trabzonspor would represent a significant step in his career, offering him the chance to test himself in a new environment and continue his rapid rise in European football.
