Trabzonspor have reached an agreement with Danish club FC Midtjylland to sign Guinea-Bissau striker Franculino Dju.
The 22-year-old forward, who operates as a central striker, joined Midtjylland in 2023 after coming through the Benfica academy. He has established himself as a prolific scorer for the Danish side, with 58 goals in 117 appearances.
Dju has played 10 matches for Midtjylland during the current season, scoring three goals and providing two assists. His overall record for the club also includes 15 assists.
The agreement represents Trabzonspor’s latest move during the current transfer window as the Turkish club continues to reshape its squad. Dju’s arrival would add another recognised central forward to the team, with his record at Midtjylland making him one of the club’s most productive attacking players.
At international level, Dju has represented Guinea-Bissau 14 times and has scored one goal. He is eligible to play for the country through his nationality and has become part of its senior international set-up.
Trabzonspor have already completed a number of deals during the current transfer period. Their new arrivals include Mohamed Salah, Fabinho, Noah Saviolo, Aral Simsir, Ernest Muci, Sidny Cabral, Riny Mitongo, Cenk Ozkacar, Melih Kabasakal and Ruslan Malinovskyi.
The club’s recruitment activity may not be finished, with reports indicating that Trabzonspor are still attempting to sign Richarlison from Tottenham and the Brazil national team.
Dju moved to Midtjylland from Benfica’s academy in 2023 and has since developed into a key attacking figure for the Danish club. His tally of 58 goals in 117 appearances is the strongest statistic in his senior club career so far and underlines why Trabzonspor have agreed terms to bring him to Turkey.
His figures this season are more modest than his overall return, but he has continued to contribute in front of goal and in the build-up to attacks, registering three goals and two assists from his 10 appearances.
The transfer remains an agreement between Trabzonspor and Midtjylland to bring the player to the Turkish club. Dju’s international experience with Guinea-Bissau, alongside his club record, will make him one of the latest additions to a Trabzonspor squad that has already seen significant activity in the current window.
