Jonathan Zebina Bids Farewell to Toulouse, Eyes New Challenge
French defender Jonathan Zebina has officially announced his departure from Toulouse Football Club as his contract nears its expiry on June 30th. After two seasons with the Ligue 1 side, the 35-year-old veteran, of Martinique origin, shared a heartfelt farewell message on his official Facebook page.
Zebina, who has previously played for European giants such as Juventus and AS Roma, expressed deep gratitude to the city of Toulouse and all those who played a role in making his time there a rewarding chapter in his long career.
“I would like to thank the people of Toulouse who made this a positive adventure,” Zebina wrote. “This includes many people: first and foremost, the supporters—thank you for your messages, whether supportive or playfully teasing, they were always delivered in good spirit. I won’t forget them.”
He also extended his appreciation to the club’s staff, praising their blend of professionalism and kindness, as well as to his teammates: “From the first to the last, I’ve shared two enriching seasons, both professionally and personally.”
Despite approaching his 36th birthday, Zebina made it clear that he is not ready to retire. The former France international, who earned a single cap with Les Bleus, revealed his intention to continue playing and is currently seeking a new challenge.
A seasoned defender known for his experience and composure, Zebina’s next move remains to be seen. However, his farewell message makes it clear that while his chapter in Toulouse has closed, his football journey is far from over.
